Killens Review of Arts & Letters
Twice a year, the Center publishes the Killens Review of Arts & Letters, a nationally respected, peer-reviewed journal. The publication features short stories, essays, nonfiction, poetry, art, photography, and interviews related to the various experiences lived by writers and artists of the African Diaspora, as well as the African continent. The aim is to provide accomplished and emerging Black creatives with opportunities to expand the canon of literature and art. The latest issue of the Killens Review is available for purchase today. The Killens Review is named for the late Georgia-born John Oliver Killens. He was a renowned African American novelist and essayist and was a writer-in-residence and professor at Medgar Evers College from 1981 to 1987. Killens was also the founder of the National Black Writers Conference, a major program of the Center.

ABOUT THE CURRENT ISSUE
The Killens Review of Arts & Letters is a peer-reviewed journal that welcomes Black writers and artists whose work speaks to the general public and to an intergenerational range of readers represented throughout the African diaspora. The Spring 2024 issue of the Killens Review, All That We Carry: Where Do We Go From Here? centers on stories, essays, creative nonfiction, poetry, art, and photography inspired by questions posed by Dr. Tiya Miles, eminent historian and creative writer, and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Content reflects how Black creatives from all parts of the world move forward when all around us is in disarray and explores the themes of legacy, memory, inheritance, and/or radical hope (or pessimism), with an orientation toward the future and future generations of Black peoples.
