About the Program

Dr. Brenda Greene and Marita Golden discuss The Wide Circumference of Love, a novel that explores the impact of Alzheimer’s on a professional Black family in Washington D.C.  They explore why this story is important in the Black community and the ways loved ones support and care for their family during times of crisis. Love is a recurring theme in the fiction, essays, and memoirs of Golden. She emphasizes the power and importance of family, love and self-care, and pens a well-crafted novel that captures the indomitable spirit that allows one to cope with loss and grief.
