The Center for Black Literature presents BaddDDD Sonia Sanchez, a documentary film about poet and activist Sonia Sanchez by Barbara Attie, Janet Goldwater, and Sabrina Schmidt Gordon. With readings and musical performances, the film examines Sanchez’s contributions to the world of poetry, her role in the Black Arts Movement, and her place in African-American culture over the last half century. The program will include a talkback with the codirector, producer, and editor Sabrina Schmidt Gordon and Dr. Brenda M. Greene, Chair of the English Department and Executive Director at the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College, CUNY.
